Maps of my Planned Walk

I'm taking an easy day at home, after having had our friends from the U.K. here, and having taken them yesterday to their next hosts.

I thought you'd like to see the route maps I've drawn for our charity walk around Britain. They're not set in concrete, but give a fair idea of what I expect the walk to be.

London to Edinburgh

Edinburgh to Glasgow

Glasgow to Land's End

Land's End to London

Dear David

If I understand correctly, you are still trying to work out how to put links in the Comment boxes.

I have been having the same trouble but have now worked out how to do it.

You put in an html coded . . . with the details of the link . . . but I can't put it here, 'cos the html vanishes once you have pressed the PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT button - and only the name of the link remains.

Therefore, I have sent you an example in an email.

I will now put exactly what I have put in the email below

DAVE‘S 101 THINGS LIST

to show it really does work! (I hope!)

Susan,

Thank you for your email and for the info. in this posting.

That gets the links, and now to be a real pest, I need to say to you that what I've been trying mostly to do is include a photo or graphic in my comments. I can do it in my own postings, but cannot manage to get it in my comments on others' blogs.

Just had a thought, though, that I should use what you've shown me and make the content within that my [IMG] stuff? I'll try later, as I'm in middle of hard work on my WALK around Britain venture. I've had a good response from a caravanners association re helping me get free sites, but I've got to send a fair bit of detailed information, which will take a day or so to work out. I'm enjoying, however!

Silly me, Susan,

I've already tried what I said in previous comment that I'd try - in other words what you showed me in your email.

I did that in my posting before this posting, and it is a link to a photo of me walking.

But when I've tried to get the photo itself appear in my comment on your blog, for example, I fail.

Put another way, in your posting on kitchens you have a photo of your husband. Can you successfully get that photo to appear as a comment on my blog, as against showing a link to it?

Sorry if I'm asking too much, and I suppose I should go to 'HELP' for things like this !!

Dear David

I don't think I've ever seen a photo in a comment box - only links.

The only thing I can think is . . . if you were to change the photo on your 'Blogger's Profile' to the one of you running, leave a comment, then change the picture back to your usual one straight after.

The picture would be small . . . but it'd be there!

Are you raising much money from the google ads on your blog? I keep clicking!!

TartanWonder said...

Yes, Louise, US$46.78 at present ! Amazing amount, really! And, importantly, I'm not allowed to ask people to click on ads in my blog.
See my new blog at http://davidp-nuclearenergy.blogspot.com/, where I'm hoping to attract people to the different ads there, without asking anyone to click.
When it reaches US$100 I can have it transferred to my bank. At approx. NZ$130 that would but me the good walking shoes I'm trying to save up for. (Today's NZ$20, from our fortnightly pension, which I get as personal spending money, went on a blister protection kit, a pint of beer, and a ticket in our pub's weekly cash raffle - prize has jackpotted to NZ$3,500.

Re the maps - because of changes I've made to my route since being asked by The Caravan Club to show sites and dates, and I've extended the route in the northwest corner of Scotland as well, I'll need to re-do my maps and post them here later. And that means new maps for my draft book. Keeps me busy!
2 days ago I had an idea - why not email to all the universities in Britain in an attempt to spread the word about our WALK, and possibly get some additional walkers, or at least some assistance, and most importantly, some sponsorship. I'm working on that at present.

David.

Perhaps University campuses can offer free accomadation as they let them out to 'civilians' during non term time
