The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Blister Time !!

Day 7.

I missed posting here yesterday, because I could not get on the computer last night. For a very good reason, however. I had sent an email to the editor of "The Scotsman" newspaper in Edinburgh, hoping to get a letter published there which would tell all about my WALK plans, and also seek sponsorship.
I got an email from that paper's Health Corrrespondent who wanted to interview me by telephone to fill in some of the story. That took place late last night, and since I do not have broadband I had to keep the line clear until that phonecall came through. The upshot is that an article will appear in "The Scotsman" next Tuesday 15 January, and it will include my appeal for sponsorship. So, I really do expect to be in a position to get to Britain in May THIS YEAR.

Anyway, back to more mundane things - yesterday was day 6 and I walked 14 kilometres. I did 6 in the morning while my wife was browsing around the shops; 8 in the afternoon, which is when a nice blistered on the ball of my left foot. Simultaneously, some skin was scraped off one of my toes on same foot. Now, at 13:21 hours on day 7, I'm debating with yself whether to risk walking today at all.
